OVERWEIGHT GRAIN SACKS

fBJSSS ASSOCIATION". OAM.AKTJ, March 14. Some, time ago the Railway Department I issued regulations imposing a penalty of iota times the ordinary 'freight charge on all cereals over 2061 b per sack. The regulations matte no exemption in respect to distance, and penalties of an exorbitant character were piled up on long distances. The Minister withdrew this regulation, and substituted one of 5s a truck. At a meeting of farmers on Saturday it was pointed out that all trucks had not the same carrying capacity, eome taking four times as much, as others, and the regulation was therefore equally unfair in incidence, and it was resolved that the Minister be asked to substitute 5s per ton, which would work out at .£3 per truck for. the larger trucks.
