A Christehurch resident received a telegram from a Hokitika resident this evening to the effect that Dr Teichelman has reached Hokitika safely.' Dr Teichelman, with Guide Graham, left Lake Heron on February 28th with the intention of going up the Rakaia Valley and attempting the ascent of Mount Arrowsmith, returning to the West Coast by tho Big Wanganui river, and owing to their non-arrival some concern was felt for their safety. On Saturday night the Hon. T. Mackenzie received a telegram from Greymouth from Mr T. Seddon, M.P., to the effect that considerable anxiety was felt regarding the 'safety- of Dr Teichelman and Guide Alexander Graham, who for some time past have been engaged . in exploring the Southern Alps. The Minister got into telegraphic touch with Mount Cook Hermitage,- and gave instructions that relief parties should be sent out at the earliest possible moment.
