At. the Police Court to-day, Martha Busun, an attractive young woman, was charged with a series of thefts from private houses, hotels, und private hotels, of goods of the total value of over JS4. Three of the thefts were, cominittt-u at Woods's Hotel, the .. Coffee Palace, and the City Hotel. Watches, bracelets, rings, blouses and petticoats were -airing the articles stolen. She actually slept in one private house in the absence of the occupants on holiday, and was caught there by a young sou of the owner. There were eight such charges against her? and she .pleaded guilty to all, and was' conimitted. to the hupmne Court for sentence. When arrested, the young woman was wearing some of the stolen jewellery; seme she had pawned. Another charge of theft is f-w-ing against the accused.
