WELLINGTON'S ZOO.

(To the Editor • - N.Z. Tlma«.") Sir, —I understand that there is a prospect of the Wellington "Zoo" losing a considerable number of its exhibits through other than dog-worrying. A very fine lot of birds have been placed at the disposal of the authorities by a private individual. These have yet to be paid for, and, unless the money is forthcoming in a few days, the probabilities aire that they will be removed from the reserve. It would be a thousand pities •if this were to happen. If the City Council cannot find the money would it not be well if the city brass bands were to give a Sunday concert in the park in aid of the fund? ' I understand from a member of the citizens' committee that a sum of .£65 is required. JC feel sure that a considerable portion of the sum could be raised if a concert were held on Sunday first.— I aim, etc., ARTHUR H. VILE. Wellington, February 17th, 1910.
