ALLEGED ASSAULT
CHARGE AGAINST A 1 CONSTABLE. PEKSS ASSOCIATION. GREYMOUTH, February 8. Constable W. Patrick Dunne, formerly of Christchurch, but stationed here during the last few months, was committed for trial to-day on a charge of assaulting Alfred Gibbons. mail express driver. Oil the application of counsel a change of venue was ordered to Hokitika. The amount of bail 'allowed was very small, os the Magistrate considered that, while a prima facie case had been made out which required answering, the charge was trivial.
