ENTERTAINMENTS

"HAVANA" TO-NIGHT. "Havana," to be seen for the first time at the Opera House this 'evening* furnishes, it is said, a very brilliantly ttuged entertainment. There is an amazing amount of plot in the piece, j There is the return to the Cuban Island on his yacht the Wasp, of Jackson Villiers, intent upon marrying the Cuban heroine, Oonsuelo, who, during his unexplained absence, has become betrothed to .Don Adolfo. There is the revolutionary plot of the scarlet cloaked ! Liberados, and another carefully worked out scheme of a comio nature in the return of Nix, the bo’sun of the Wasp. The audience is able to follow the plot and counter-plot with ease, and even if it disregards this, the ballets, songs, humorous dialogues and specialty features would ensure the popularity of the piece with the public by sheer weight of jollity. The Nix of Hr Bert Gilbert is spoken of as a revelation in high-class humour. Splendid scenic effects. gorgeous costuming, clever X>eople, and music from the pen of the composer of "Floradora" should furnish an entertainment that oven the most exacting will be satisfied with, and th© Ultra-fastidious fascinated by. "Havana" will bo played for the next six nights. Owing to the length of the play tho curtain will rise each evening at ten minutes to eight. "Tho King of Cadonin" was presented for tho last time last evening, when tho Opera House was crowded in every part. THEATRE ROYAL. Tho programme at present being submitted at the Theatre Royal is a particularly attractive one, and the house* is filled ©very evening. The Martini Sisters, who are making their first appearances, are a pair of very charming' series, and Miss Bella Perman sings andi dances excellently. Most peo-j, plo have seen dwarfs who are stunted, Bpecdanrens of the—ordinary human race, t ‘ but a tiny being whose symetry of form suggests an origin apart from mankind as we know it, is a novelty that, recalls childhoods' fairy tales of elves, gnomes, and pixies. Aid .the "Cornish. Pixie" is the name that has been given to a tiny individual who. It s sad, was dsoovared in a little fishing village near Penzance. Nothing is known of his otri-' gin, though local gossip has it that be was found on the shore after the wreck, of a Spandeh sailing -vessel which was conveying him to England in charge of an onterprtsin;* manager, who intended him for exhibition purposes.
