Atftor falling fourteen feet, tho Seino is again showing a tendency to rise, owing to tbonnild .waather molting the snows. Parliament is being asked by tho Government to provide a further £■500,000 to compensate sufferers by the floods. The Government has decided to provide tradesmen and owners of land and houses affected by the floods with credits, to enable them to start afresh. . i A womam and a young girl returned to an abandoned house in tie suburb -of Alfortville, which immediately collapsed. The woman was killed, bnt tho girl was rescued. Fears of an epidemic in.tho city, as a result of the flood have lessened. SUGGESTED PREVENTIVE. 1 (Received February 8, 9.30 p.m.) PARIS, February 8. Among the suggested preventives of future floods in Paris is a sohomo for cutting an overflow canal from Saint Maur across the St. Denis plain.
