NEW CHURCH AT TIMARU
CHESS -ASSOCIATION. TIMAIUi, February 0. The foundation-stone of the new Sacred ileart Church was fetid this afternoon by Bishop Grimos, of the diocese of Canterbury. There was a.very large attendance of members of the church and public. After ihe procession, which included a number of clergy and members of the Hibernian Society, his Lordship laid the stone with due ceremonyt Addresses' followed by the Eev. Father Tubman (vicar of the parish). Bishop Grimes and others. ... . A special collection realised a largo sum. Tim church will cost ,£20.000 to finish, and is to bo built of concrete, with Oamaru clone facings and ornaments.
