All the lady members of the club were asked. by tho chairwoman to attend at her studio on Thursday, at 7.45, for the purpose of receiving tickets- for the art union and discussing matters in connection with the chib, particularly the obtaining of the patronage of ladies of Wellington who would be asked to exert their influence to prosper the affairs of the institution. The question of club rooms formally dealt with. The council intimated that many offers of premises had been received, but it was considered advisable to delay decision until it was known how many members would have to be catered for. At present tho club numbers sixty-two, practically all workers in art, but there are several further applications for membership to be dealt with at the next meeting of the council. Application has been made by the editors of several illustrated journals published in the Dominion for permission to reproduce some of the pictures and the council has readily given its consent. Two lady canvassers are be appointed for the sale of tickets in the art union, and the matter will bo dealt with at the lady members’ meeting on Thursday.
