ANNUAL PICNIC
The employees of Messrs R. Martin, Ltd., held their annual picnic, at Day’s Day on Saturday, and spent a very enjoyable day's outing. The following were successful in the various races: Ladies’ Race—Mrs Smith 1, Mrs Norris 2. Men’s: Eace, 100yds—R. Leth 1, H. Glover 2. Men’s Race, over forty-fire—G. Johns 1, W. Stoner 2. Ladies’ Potato Race—Mrs Anderson 1, Mrs Norris 2. Pick-a-back— N. Hannan and J. Adams 1. Ladies’ Hurdle Race—Mrs Tovey 1, Mrs Sealey 2. Apprentices’ Race-—P. George 1, F. Lowe 2, N. Goad. 3. Committeemen’s Race—J. Auld 1, D. Smith 2. .Wheelbarrow Race—J. Adams and P. George 1. Obstacle Race—N. Hannan ,1, H. Glover 2. Blindfold Race—N; Hannan 1, ,S. Tovey 2. The following were the committee :—A, Shakes, W. Stoner, J. Auld, J. Allen, D. Smith, P. Whitley.
