THE BOWLERS
Saturday afternoon witnessed the closing scenes of the bowling and mUny ladies attended the Wellington green and lent a festive appearance to the assembly. Great enthusiasm was displayed by tho fair sex when their favourite teams scored. The culminating point, however, was reached when a dusky bowler, in tho zenith of his enthusiasm, triumpmintly hoißted the winning "skip" on his shoulders, and carried him round the green, to tho intense enjoyment of all assembled. Afternoon tea was again procurable, under the direction of Mrs Mentiplay, and many were the patrons of this department during tho hot afternoon. All the bowlers agree that Wellington was on its best behuviour, and they are loud in the praise of the hospitality extended to them during their stay here.
