HIGH LEVELS WATER SUPPLY
: The engineering department of the ■Wellington City .Council is.pnaaing.on vigorously its scheme : for increasing ilie pressure in the water mains of tho highier, levels.; A small .storage reservoir, similar to the one recently Ibuilt in the Botanical Gardens for tiho supply of Kelburne, is being oon'struiotes on the Town Belt near Bidwill street- for the. convenience of the Tesidents in that locality. The water runs into the reservoir out of the city mains at night, and in the busy hours of the day when the mains are' taxed to their utmost the reseirvoir is used to maintain the pressure in the high levels. All the excavation work has 'been completed for the new ; tank; and 'a Start has been made with the concrete. The capacity will be about '40,000 gallons.
