BEAUTIFUL DRESSES

GOWNS IN “THE KING OF OADONIA.” “ Tho King of Oadonia,” which is to bo produced hero on, the 29th inst., is said to be the most gorgeously caparisoned comic opera- ever done by the J. 0. When she discards tills she is seen in a tight-fitting princess dress of deep pink satin, the front like a baby’s robe, having an elaborate panel formed of silk" applique laid on the satin. It is a beautiful frock. Her second dress is also quite tight-fitting, of white satin, with the front panel embroidered thickly with seed pearls, edged down one side with ermine. This is brightened by a tiara, and one of the fashionable pendant necklets of diamonds. With this, at, the last, a sumptuous court train is worn, edged with .ermine, and having the royal ooat-of-arms of Cadonia worked in tone corner. ■ Tho King in this act. is a most majestic and imposing figure in a white uniform, with a gorgeous tram of royal purple, and , old gold' velvet with tho huge coat-of-arms in the centre. Miss Susie Vaughan weare first an elegant snuff-brown dress, with the front panel and zouave effect worked in 1 soutache braiding. Her second dress is _ magnificent, of full rose-coloured satin, with an overdress, of heavy black lace and white gold-' embroidered Cluny lace in alternate, stripes, which opened to reveal the train; Over this a most magnificent train is Worn. Miss Sergeant wears smart little peasant dresses, the one of orange, embroidered with black and gold and red and gold apron, being very, pretty. :
