Prices for merinos have advanced 5 centimes per lb. Crossbreds are meeting with a lively demand, at fully 15 centimes above November rates. There were 2648 bales’ offered, and 1564 sold. In connection with tho forthcoming wool solos. 405,500 bales have arrived, of which 225,000 have been forwarded direct to tho manufacturers, leaving 180,000 available for auction. Dalgoty and Co„ Ltd., have received tho following cable message from their London house, under Monday's date: “Wool.—Tho list of arrivals is closed, and all your wools have arrived in time. Tho now arrivals amounted to 406.000 bales, of* which quantity 229,C00 bales were forwarded direct to manufacturers. at Home and abroad, leaving, with 3CCO bales old stocks, 130,000 bales available for tho January sales.” Tho Customs revenue received at Wellington yesterday totalled £2351.

ADDINGTON. PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH. January 12. There was a small entry of store sheep at Addington to-day, made up of wothercs and lambs. There was fair demand, especially for wethers in good condition and rape lambs. • Four and 6-tooth wethers made 11s Id to 12s 6d, best rape lambs 9s 3d, lighter 6s 7d to 7s 3d. There was au entry of 5750 fat lambs, of which a. good proportion were not well finished. There was good competition for export, and a clearance was effected at prices about 6d per head in advance of last week. Heavy weights and tegs made 12s 9d to 14a, average freezers 10s 6d to 12s 6d, a few lighter lambs 9s 2d to 10s (tho latter priced lot being taken by a grazier). There was a fairly largo yarding of fat sheep, of which the bulk was wethers. Several export buyers were operating, and took a large number of medium weight wethers, prices ranging from 14s to' 14s 6d. All through the sale wethers were firm; for owes there was a good demand at last week’s prices, until butchers had filled their requirements, and then they became dull of sale. Prime wethers 14s 6d to 17s, lighter 13a 2d to 14s, prime ewes 11s 6d to 13s 6d, extra 15s 3d. others 8s 6d to 11s, merino wethers 9s 2d. Tho yarding of fat cattle totalled 296, including some very prime quality steers and heiferg. There was fair demand, but prices were a shade easier in consequence of tho largo yarding. TOP AND RECORD PRICES AT WOOL SALES. At tho Dunedin wool sale on December 16th, tho top price, 143 d. was realised by Mr T. L. Johnston, of IVaipaht. and Mr J. A. Pannctt, of Roxburgh, sold his wool at prices tip to 14£d, which constituted a record for tho Dominion for the whole clip. In both cases tho sheep had been dipped in Little’s Powder Dip. Mr J. E. Sirapkinaon. who also used Little's Powder Dip, obtained top price, 151(1. at Christchurch, on November 18th, and this is the present record for New Zealand. tho previous record having been held by Mr M.
