WELLINGTON REGATTA. Some brilliant rowing should be seen at the Wellington regatta, which. is to take plane on the harbour next Saturday. I'esterday afternoon the Waitemata champion four arrived in the oitv. The . men are of- fine physique, and it is thought that the loss of Parkinson will not detrimentally affect the crew, the personnel of which is—!•'. JAerring (str), J. McGuire (3), D. BeTI (2), B. Andrews (bow), W. Ghents (cox). W. J. Westray, who will represent Waitemata in single sculls both here and at the championship regatta at Picton on the 24th inst., also arrived ye3terday. . The ■ northern men intended to go right on to the Sounds and return here for the regatta, but were not in time to catch yesterday's' Picton boat. 0. E. Stone, St. George's single sculler, is now at Picton, while H. B. Harper, also a St. George's candidate for the champion sculls, should reach here on AV'ednesday, thus leaving plenty of time to recover from the effects of the journey before Saturday. The Christchurch men will arrive on Friday or Saturday morning, while Blenheim and Picton crews should reach here by Thursday's steamer. In all there are about fifty-six entries for the ten events, constituting a reoord for any regatta this season. The following is a complete list of the entries:— ' .
