LEAGUE'S EXPLANATIONS. BLAME PLACED ON THE INDIAN AGENT. (Received January 10, 10.40 pjn.) SYDNEY, January 10. Tlio Immigration, League's reply to adverse criticism regarding tho stranded party is that the league's Indian agent, through, lack of accurate information, . unintentionally misled - some of tho earlier batches of imm.igxsm.te with regard to refunds, but duo warnings had been published in the Indian press as to conditions in Australia and the proper typo of immigrants required. The coal strike had upset ill! calculations, and a cable message was sent to tho Indian agent on December Ist to stop sending any more parties.
