DISMISSAL OF CAPTAIN KNYVETT. FBJSS ASSOCIATION. January 10. Volunteer circles in Auckland are Digitated to the exclusion, of well nigh everything elso just now over tho Defence Department's decision to dismiss Captain F. B. Knyvett from the defence forces. Opinion is very strong among officers and men. The action of Captain Knyvett's own company in refusing to attend any moro parades until he is reinstated is viewed with pretty general satisfaction, while a disfinct spirit of sympathetic resentment and unrest is ■ manifesting itself in the attitude of several other companies.
Tho meeting of garrison officers tomorrow evening is expected to bo productive of some uncompromising opinions on tho subject.
