The steamer Delphic, which left Wellington, on Saturday for London, was practically a full ship, having only a small amount of cargo space in one or two holds. She carries large quantities of butter and cheese, and umong the butter are 500 boxe<s, constituting the first consignment of butter loaded direct into a London-bound steamer at Timaru. Mr J. Gilberteon, mate of the coastal steamer Manaroa, who is suffering from a slight injury to his back, has been succeeded temporarily by Mr Burton. Advices from Westport report that the French steamer St. Louis is returning from Noumea, Now Caledonia, to Westport, to ngain load coal. There is a possibility of the steamer remaining permanently in the trade. The Maorilond Steamßhip Compnny >has received advice that tho Ennerdale will not leave Greymoutli until to-mor-row for Melbourne, owing to the blowoiess of loading operations. The coastal steamer Wairau, which ■left Wellington on Saturday night for Picbon, is to proceed thence to Blackball to load timber for Wellington, whore she is due next Wednesday. The crew of the Union Company's steamer Takapuna will be paid off at Wellington this morning, the vessel being placed out of commission. PALLS OF NITH. The New Zealand Shipping Company's chartered steamer Falls of Nith. berthed at King's Wharf on Saturday to commence loading for London. The 1 vessel should arrive at Wellington, this evening, and will subsequently berth at the Taranaki street wharf. INDRAGHIRI AT AUCKLAND. ■Tho steamer Indraghiri, of the Tyser lir.o, "arrived at Auckland at 6.15 a.m. yesterday from New York, via Melbourne and Sydney. A very ■ fair run of 275 hours from Westport brought the Westport Harbour Board's suction dredge Rubi Seddon to Wellington at 4.15 n.m. on Saturday. The Rubi Seddon has had six years' strenuous work at the Westport bar, whioh she has vastly improved, and she has now come to Wellington to go on tho patent slip for a cleaning and painting and to have the trap doors of her hold attended to, a* they leak considerably. It is six years since the Rubi Seddon was delivered at AVellington by her builders, the well-known Renfrew dredge builder?. Wm. Simons and Co., Ltd. Her touching of a rock in ths R*d See on the voyage out will be fre.«h in the memories of all.
