ALLEGED BUTTER FRAUDS
VICTORIAN AGENT-GENERAL'S INQUIRY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. MELBOURNE, January 8. It was reported from London a day or two ago that it had been discovered that empty Australian-branded butterboxes were ' collected in London, 'shipped abroad, especially to Malta, and there filled with margarine, which was sold as Australian butter.
Wiitili reference to this, Sir John Tuveimat, Victorian ' Agent-General, reports that ho is continuing his inquiries on the subject. The general opinion of English merchants is that the rumours are unfounded.
