FBOM OUR SPEOIAIi COKEEgrONDENT. LONDON, November 26. London is so largely the centre of Australian tradp'that'the miners' strike in New South Walef. is brought home to it very closely. It has been found necessary by the shipping companies to raise freights substantially, for the simple reason that if a steamer. takes out with her from Colombo or from Durban sufficient coal to bring her back to those ports she must shut out.a good deal of cargo for the Commonwealth. As a consequence space becomes more valuable. The Oivielo, the fifth of the new Orient liners, which sailed from London today on her maiden voyage to Australia, is "getting 75s per ton for fine goods, as ngainst 60s, or an increase of 25 Jj>er cent.
