BOY SCOUTS

TRAINING IN GAMP. During the holidays tho Wellington Boy Scouts were in camp at- Glenava, Miramar, and derived considerable benefit therefrom. Tho Miramar, Mount Victoria, Kilbirnio and Brooklyn troops all participated in tho encampment. Practical ivork was done by the lads in making suitable approaches to their respective tents, the work being efficiently carried out. During tho encampment a midnight attack was jnade on the scouts by residents: .of Ivaraka Bay. Owing to the vigilance of the sentries the attack failed, tilio enemy being captured—and regaled with supper. Subsequent ■attacks also failed, the boys doing .splendid work in surrounding the enemy. Etch day the lads were instructed in some particular branch of scouting work and showed considerable aptitude in learning what their tutors desired to impart to them. Each of tho troops had its own stores, consisting of everything that could reasonably bo expected in a camp. Tho lads were given turns-in attending to tho cooking, some of them showing special ability in this department.
