Not a siUc hat or a frock coat was Worn by the committee of American business men who greeted President Taft on his arrival at Memphis the other day. \e ban was placed on this form of dress on the ground that the President’s visit was one purely of commercial significance, and he was to bo entertained by business men in a business-like way.
