Authority for the work was given tinder am Act of Parliament passed at the instance of the Dover Harbour Board, but the Admiralty experts now aDego that the position of . the proposed dock would bo too exposed to be of any value in war time. The scheme is estimated to cost £1,000,000, and if carried out would afford work for hundreds of metn now out of employment.
