LATEST PROM WANGANUI. SPECIAL TO IBS " TIMES.” WANGANUI, January 4. Dick Arnst, the world’s champion soniler, did not bring a boat with him to Wanganui, but he is expecting his to arrive to-night. The champion had a row to-day in i’elton's boat, and shaped particularly ivell—much, better than was expected. He looks a much fitter man when seen stripped than appeared at first sight, and it is evident he has done a lot of work.
Pelton and To Eewhiti have pone up the river to camp at Kaiwhaike in order to have a row or two over the course. So far there is not the amount of interest being taken in the race that was anticipated, but it is thought that a good number will go up the river on Thursday and Saturday. .
