The injuries which the well-known horseman, Fred White-house, received at Bulls on Monday when riding Arcadia in the Hack Hurdles, terminated , fatally at an early hour yesterday morning at the Palmerston North Hospital. The deceased was one of the best-known hurdle riders in this island, and was a quiet and unassuming fellow. For some time past illluck had persistently pursued him, and he had no sooner recovered from one piece of misfortune than another overitook him. Some few years ago he was a good deal associated with the late Harold Connop. Among horses which the deceased had a good innings with was tho Jet d’Bau gelding Fieri©. He had resided for some little time past at Woodville, and was a married man, but had no family. Mrs "Whitehouse was brought over to Palmerston on Monday night by motor-car. Much sympathy will be felt for her in the sad loss she has sustained.
