SPANISH SUCCESS AT MELILLA
KEY OF THE PENINSULA OCCUPIED. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyrigh* MADRID, November 7. The Spanish forces in Morocco have occupied Hidim, the key to the whole country as far as Capo Tres Forcas, tho northern headland of the Melilla peninsula. MAHOMEDS SUBMITTING. (Received November 8, 10 p.m.) MELILLA, November 8. Two Spanish battalions, with a mountain battery, have occupied an important position on Mount Gurugu overlooking the bay and tho plain outside Melilla, and tho Trujana, Bensicar territories. Tho Mahomeds on the lower lands have now submitted.
