GLUT IN THE LONDON MARKET. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received July 14, 10.35 pan.) LONDON, July 14. A meeting of New Zealand and Australian meat importers, Mr George Goodsir presiding, discussed.the glut.in the market and the serious decline in prices. Without exacting any individual pledges the meeting'approved of the principle of abstaining* as an experiment, during the next ten days from soiling Canterbury sheep carcases of less than 301 b under 4d, 3G to 423 h under 3£d, 42 to 501 b under 31d, aud choice North Island and Southland £d per lb less in each grade. The chairman did not believe these fixtures would check the sales. Ho estimated that 1,000,000 carcases were now stored. It was resolved to ask tho New Zealand Government to undertake systematic advertising of meat during the continuance of tho glut, in tho interests of the Dominion’s trade.
