ANSWERS TO CORRESPONDENTS.
"Ajax" (Palmerston North) —If the clergy enter the political arena and dispense unqualified criticism they cannot hop© to avoid reprisals in kind. We will not open our columns to tho abuse of clerical controversialists, neither will we attempt to shut out correspondents who desire to discuss issues which the clergy have raised. If ministers desire to preserve their calling as sacred they must not enter the lists as_ secular controversialists. We admit their right to make an election, but having done so they must accept whatever criticism their remarks or criticisms evoke. / "Spondullx” (Eketahuna). —There is nothing to prevent tho members of Tattersall's Club from storing liquor in lockers on their premises, but they will require a charter before they can have a bar. "Open Sesame" (jMasterton).—We have heard nothing of the rumours you allude to.
