ADDINGTON. CHRISTCHURCH, July 14. At Addington live stock market today there were fairly large entries of stock and a good attendance. The yarding of store sheep was smaller than Inst week, and hoggets formed, the larger proportion. Some lines of ewe hoggets were of good quality. Tho demand was about the same as last week, but values were rather lower. An extra good lino of 350 ewe hoggets made 14s to 14s 9d, others 12s Gd to 13s 6d, wether hoggets 8s Gd to 10s, mixed lines at late rates. A line of three-quarterbred ewes, chiefly full-mouthed, sold at 14s, half* breds (of mixed ages) 11s, aged ewes 8s Gd to 9s Gd. Wethers, of which no forward sorts were offered, made 11s to 11s 6d. The yarding of fat lambs numbered 1800. The quality showed a further falling off owing to the Home market; being blocked. There was a limited demand for export, and only 655' were bought for this purpose at prices ranging from 10s to 14s. Two hundred and lifty-one. were bought by butchers from 9s upwards, one extra good pen making 14s lid, and the balance of the yarding was passed in. The decline in prices equalled Is Gd to per head. The overall prices at the works have been reduced and are now quoted as follows:—Under 3GIb, 4£d; 36ib to 421 b, 34d; over 421 b, 3£d; and "crown” quality, 3£d. . There was a large yarding of fat sheep, mostly wethers, of which there wore a number of prime heavy and medium weight lines. There were several lots of extra prime ewes. The market opened rather slack, but competition improved. Butchers" ewes sold at about equal to last week's prices, in some cases showing a little improvement. There was good demand for wethers for export to fill orders in hand, but buyers were operating on lower limits and prices were easier by fully Is per head. Prime, wethers las Gd to 18s, extra to 18s 9d, lighter 13s to 15s, prim© ewes 13s to 14s 6d, extra to 16s 4d, others 10s 6d to 12s 6d, merino wethers 10s to 11s 4d. There was a very large entry of fat cattle, and a good proportion was of prime quality. The demand was weak, and sales were irregular and difficult to effect. Values all round showed a decline of fully Is per 1001 b as compared with late sales, cow and inferior beef being particularly dull of- sale. Prime beef made 19s Id to 21s Gd, medium 18s to 19s, and cow and inferior 13s to 17s per 1001 b. Steers mad© <£4 15s to £lO 17s 6d, heifers £4 to £9, cows £4 8s to £9 2s 6d. Vealers sold at 4s Gd to £3. The small yarding of store cattle, consisted chiefly of old cows, and there was poor demand. Three-year steers 'made £5 2s Gd, three-year heifers £3 17s Gd, two-year steers £2 14s to <£2 15s, twoyear heifers ,£2 9s, dry cows 20s to £3. Dairy cows, for the better sorts of which there was a keen demand, made £3 to £8 17s Gd. There was a larger entry of pigs than for some weeks past, and for fats tho demand was weak and a dull sale r©7 suited. Small stores, however, mot with good inquiry. Choppers sold at ' £4, heavy baconers 55s to 625, lighter 42s to 50s (equal to 4d per lb), large porkers 36s to 40s, and' smaller 28s to 35s (equal to 5d to S;RI per lb), largo stores 28s to 345, medium 27s to 335, smaller 16s to 20s, and weanors 12s to 15s,
