MAFIA BOMB OUTRAGE
ENGLISHMAN REFUSES TO PAY BLACKMAIL. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright ROME, July 12. A bomb was thrown by an agent of the Mafia secret society into the residence of Mr Whitaker, in Palermo, where King Edward, Queen Alexandra, and the Dowager-Empress of Russia* were lately entertained during their yachting cruise in the Mediterranean. The bomb fortunately exploded without doing Any 'damage. Mr Whiter had refused to pay blackmail-to’ the Mafia.
