DISTRICT NURSING GUILD

The annual report .of the St. John Ambulance Association (Wellington Centre) makes the following mention of the District Nursing Guild Department;—Excellent work has been don© by th© district nurses working under th© aegis of th© District Nursing Guild, aud the public has cheerfully subscribed to th© upkeep of this department. During tnc year Nurses Sexton, and Macandrew paid 9814 visits to th© patients’ under their charge, many of whom have gratefully referred to the skill and self-abnegation of the nurses. A large number of ladies have supplied parcels of old clothes, bed linen, and other comforts for the occupants of homes darkened by illness, and the committee has also provided medical requisites whenever such have been required. The president (Mrs S. A. Rhodes)' has been tireless in her efforts to promote the welfare of the guild, as well as the division, and under her able direction, both, organisations have steadily progressed. Their Excellencies the Governor aud Lady Plunket have also evinced keen interest in the operations of the guild, arid have taken several opportunities to urge its claims for practical sympathy from the charitably • inclined.
