Tho game is still unfinished and further adjourned, probably till Thursday night. Forsyth v. Barnes (King’s gambit declined).—Forsyth lost exchange in getting rid of a dangerous bishop. He lost exchange again shortly afterwards, and resigned on tho 35th move. - Tho third round resulted as follows: Barnes v. Koliing (Caro Kaura de Franchc).—On IhtT 27th move Barnes took his opponent's rook under tho mistaken impression t>at he was_g : ving check, and thereby lost' his queen and the game. Davies v. Maeon (Buy Lopez).—Mason's knight got into trouble on the 11th mow, and his efforts to extricate it gave Davies an opportunity of attacking strongly. Mason resigned on the 47tb move, being unable to prevent pawn from quosning. Dodds v. Fox (Giuoco Piano).—Fox lost a knight bv hasty play. By sacrificing a bishop later he won brilliantly on tho 25th move. Edwards v. Forsyth (Zukcrtort s openingj.—A very tough game.
