GROWTH OF AUSTRALIA’S TRADE.

Fisher, Federal Prime Minister, ■ Speaking at a banquet given by .the manufacturers, dealing with the question of the progress of Australia, stated that under Protection it was claimed that 21,000 employees had been added to the industries during the past year. The now Government would give manufacturers every assistance they required in getting their industries protected and securing the whole of the Australian trade.
Mr Deakin said that during tho term of office of his Government, trade in Queensland had incresead by four million pounds; in Victoria by seven and a quarter millions; and in New South Wales by seven and a half millions.
