In (he final for the men'* championship (Gollan Cup) Kurupo Tnrcha beat Harraud, sup and 3to play. Harraud .storied badly, and Tarcha was G up at the eighth holt*. After that they kept fairly well tcgelher, but Harraud was oiT > in putting, and lost several chances of gaining on his opponent. It was not a nrst-rate exposition of tho game. The men’s final handicap was won by F, Raven (handicap IS), who wac? -1 up; H. Kawhi (handicap 1), second, 1 up; G. , F. TJiorburn (handicap 2), third, all square. The mixed foursome was won by F. T. Tins was won by Airs W . E. Bhhvill, who went round in S 5, which constitutes a record for the course. With a handicap of 12 Airs Bidwill was seven up on bogey. Airs Tweed (IG), 6 up, was second, and Miss Simpson (10), 5 up, third. A ruling having been obtained in reference to tho point on which Miss Hani.ay lost her match with Aliss L. Brandon on F’riday, it was found that the former should not have been penalised. Airs Lees, who had been awarded tho championship after playing off with Miss Brandon on Friday, very sportingly offered to play off with Miss Hannay, and after a close game lasting to the eighteenth green, was defeated 2 up. Aliss Hannay is therefore champion for the year. The latter has been playing a nice steady game, and deserves the honour.

Tho point unon which Miss Hannay wrongfully lost the hole in the first case is simple. Miss L. Brandon was lying on the lip of the hole, leaving Miss Hannay a putt for. half, which she negotiated. ‘ Miss Hannay’s caddy then picked up Miss Brandon’s ball, and her opponent was awarded to have lost the hole. The rules say that a player haying holed cannot be deprived of the half under any circumstances. WELLINGTON v. HUTT.
