It was decided to pay -Mr Strand for work done on the Akatarnwa roa-l up to £.50 per -1111111111, and up to £25 for maintenance of ihe Whitomim'3 Valley road.

The final draft agreement between the local bodies for tho erection of tho now Hutt bridgo was received, and several members ascertained, in reply to their questions, that tho two ridings interested would bo liable if the bridgo had to bo repaired or ?oarected. It was decided to approve and seal the agreomont. PAHAUTA.NUI POUND. Messrs Abraham and Williams wroto declining the proposal to uso a portion of the yards at Pahauta.nui as n. publio pound. The Pnhautaniii Domain Board having written offering to louso a quarter of an aoro for' tho purpose, it was decided t" accept this offer and erect tho pound. AN UNEXPENDED BALANCE. The Department of Roads intimated flint a grant of £25 for moving and re-oreccing a fence on Mr Farnan'a laoid at Nonriandalo had boon voted. It was stated that Mr Farnan had only rooeivod six shillings, and tho fence was still in the old position. The Council decided to ask if tho department would authorise expenditure 3f the balance opon Normandale road. It was decided to instruct tho registrar of dogs to continue collecting the iax in Hutt Town District, and to tho necessary adjustment with the Town' Board.

A complaint from Mr J. Kilminster regarding stray stock en the'Western 'B'utt road, and tho speed of motor cars, was referred to tho ranger with an iutimution that the duties of his oilico mnst be carefnlly attended to.
