It wa.s doubtful if fourteen inmates could be accommodated, bef.-aii.sß there would have to be a. stall' bedroom. A lirecseapo would bo necessary at a cost of CJ.jO. . . ,

They had considered the. possibility of improving tho cookery and laundry ai-raneements, v hich should not be continued iiidefmitolv in their present state, but, having regard to the present (xH-upantiy of the Home and the corditifins which governed tho demands upon it, the'committee was of opinion that substantial enlargement would be inevitable during the next two years. It was questionable whether it would be wise to embark now upon oxpeiisi re alterations and improvements, which, might or might not —indeed, probably would not—co-ordinato with any uew struo+tiral extensions, and thus risJc the futile expenditure of .some hundreds of pounds. The committee recommended that scmo small improvements be carried out, increasing the size of the scullery, extending the laundry, and improving the hot water supply. Tlioy also sugg.ated that should the Home be overtaxed during the winter, steps bo at once taken for the inauguration of a comprehensive scheme of enlargement. It was explained by the chairman (tho Kev. \V. A. Evans) that tho temjiorary alterations proposed would not cost more than £IOO.

Mr D. Robertson, a member of tho committee, said tho alterations were absolutely necessary for the economic working of tho Home. Mr A. W. Hogg, M.P., said if the number of inmates increased, extensions would bo imperative. The report was adopted.
