It' is understood that the Labour caucus is willing to support Sir William Lyne if given a majority of tho portfolios. They want four portfolios and one honorary member, leaving Sir William Lyno with three portfolios and one honorary member. There is a possibility that Mir Deakin —who, it has been stated, will resign on Wednesday next—may consent to remain in office until tho close of the session. This would suit Sir William Lyne better. He would then bo prepared to undertake to form a Ministry.
THE LATEST. MR LEAKIN' RETAINS OFFICE FOR A TIME, (Received April 14, 0.45 a.m.) MELBOURNE, April 13. Mr Leakin has decided to retain office till the tariff is finished or perhaps till tho conclusion of tho session.
