It is not given to every Methodist school to number two Attorney-Generals among its “old boys.” This honour is claimed by the Woodhouyse Grove School, Apperley Bridge, near Bradford. The late Sir John Lawson Walton entered the school in 1861 and left it in 1834. In 1861 an "old Grovian,” Sir William Atherton, became Attorney-General. He died in 1864.
