THE HON GEORGE FOWLDS
BUSY DAY IN DUNEDIN.
PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN. April 10. Tho Hon. George X i 'owlds visited - a number' of institutions in Dunedin today, including tho Salvation Army Maternity Home, tho Carnegie Public Library and Art Gallery, the Early Settlers' 1 Hall, and the St. Helens Maternity Hospital. At the last-named institution he conferred with tho matron regarding, necessary alterations and improvements to bring the institution -up to date. A conference between the Minister and representatives of local bodies was hold to consider tho question of drainage of Kaikorai Valley. The local bodies cannot.agree as to a remedy for the present state of affairs, and the Minister indicated the probability of the appointment of a Government- Commissioner to tocida the matter.
