PRINCESS REJECTS HIS LOVE.

A' sensational drama on a motor car is reported from Bucharest. Prince Ghika, the richest landowner in tho country, had a chauffeur, an extremely good-looking Italian called Harveri, who fell in love with tho Princess., The latter, however, indignantly rejected his declaration, and forced him to give notice under threat that she would otherwise inform her husband.

The other day Harveri was driving the Prince and his wife to the estate of a noble family, and put on the greatest speed attainable when outside Bucharest. Despite the Prince's protest, he continued this terrific rate, wu*i the apparent intention of wrecking tuo car or running ■it into the river beside tho road, and so killing himself and the occupants. •

The Prince, who though*, the chauffeur had gone mad, sprang into the front seat beside me driver. There was a desperate struggle, the 1 car meanwhile dashing along at a tremendous pace. The Prince managed to overpower the chauffeur, and stem the car before there was a collision.

The Chauffeur, whb either jumped or was thrown out, was found dead with his skull fractured. Tho Princess sustained a serious shock to her nervous system, but the Prince was unhurt.
