“THE CRUCIFIXION."
The late Sir John Stainer's well-known work “The iCrncifisoh” was given in St. Peter’s Church last evening by a full choir, under the conductorship of Dr W. Kyngton Fyff e, who presided at th« organ. < The choral music was well rendered. The choir’s singing of the chorus "God So Loved the World" was quite equal to anything "of a .similar clans of music that has been heard in Wellington Vfor a long while. The soloists were Messrs E. J. Hill, P. Hockley, and A. J. Geary. The collection was in' aid of the choir funds.
