THE P. AND A. SOCIETY. (From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTERTON, April 7. The following recommendations of a mib-cominittce were adopted by tho LSonoral Committee of the Wairarapa P, and A Society yesterday : (3) That two tunusliles be erected at tho front gates, and that no pfciescs be issued.
(ij/ That hoses for the sale of ticket*: be erected for tho show, twenty foot from tho turnstiles.
(3) That at tho grandstand nil tickets except members' and .complimontari.es bo taken by tho gatekeepers and punched on admittance, and a pass iesuod ongoing' out.
(4) That special access be provided tc the stewards' luncheon room, go that those who go there, not having stand tickets, shtill not bo able to got on Id the lawn or stand. Tho society's unaudited bnlanc&chcoti chews receipts amounting to .£1520 2d Od and expenditnro to £1794 13s Id. leaving a debit balance of £273 17c in tho receipts wore subscriptions A ,J " ’: donations £4 19 2.3 6dj entry fees £256r privileges, gates, etc., .£231 14s 31d; and in tho expenditure, prizes £538 9s (sdf permanent improvements =£3o3 12s 2d; management £221 Os 4d; general show expenses .£153 18s -id; hdvertieing and printing £IOG Os 10d: general and. sun* dries, including judges (.£39 lls), luncheon (£SG), £293 3a 9d. The association commenced the year with a debit balance of £233 193 2d. 'The liabilities of thv association are £2O 13s, atfiinefc ..which there are outstanding subscriptions,, do-' nations, and foes totalling £lO7 16s. s BENEVOLENT TRUSTEES.
The Masterton Benevolent Trustees met Ibis afternoon, Messrs E. F. Holmes (chairman), J. G. Bwingtxm,- W. Morris,, and, Mesdames Cairns and- Kean being present. The pay-sheet for tho month was passed, arid showed t l c ordinary expenditure to amount to -£1!) 9s Gd, and that for tho Eennall Solway Homo to £2l 11» Bd. Tho Eeimall Solway Home Was visited last week by Mias lurk,, the .recentlyappointed Charitable Aid Inspector. Sho expressed great satisfaction at the general management of the Home. t The cost of upkeep of. tho inmates in the Homo amounted to 10s 2d. per head per week last year. The inspector considered tho Home was one of tho best _ appointed and best managed institutions she has visited. . The number of charitable cases attended to by the Benevolent Trustees last year was 2SG. £Ol3 19s lid was expanded by tho trustees.
