Mrs Ovtherine Agar, -who died on Saturday at Lyttelton, had been a resident of Lyttelton for over fifty years. She was a native of Ireland, and, with her father Hnd mother, came to Lyttelton from Cork by the ship Caroline Agnes in the year 1855. Her father, the late Mr John Carroll, was driver of the coach that used to ran between the port and Christchurch before the tunnel was opened. In 1863 Mrs Agar nrtirried the late air George Avar, who died ten years ago in London. She leaves a grown-up family of four Sons and five daughters. Only one Chinaman arrived from Sydney yesterday by the Ulimaroa. He' is hooked for Dunedin. Ho previously resided in the Dominion.
