The sheep uoufi, notably those sot aside for stores, wore 111 led to overflowing. Mobs poured in from all directions. Pat cattle numbered. 201 head. There Was a good demand for finished steers, which sold up to last week’s quotations, lloifors sold well, although the yarding did not include any high-class animals. There was a good sale of fat cows., Steers made from £6 5s to 4310 12s fid, and heifers from ill 15s to £9 15si Best etccr hoof made from 20« to file fid; medium, 17s fid to 19s fid; and cow beef 15e to 17s per lOfllb. The yarding of fat sheep was considerably in cxcofe of requirements. Prime suffered a decline, valuta falling Is to Is fid all round. The range of prices was: —Prime wethers, 19s to 2os; lighter. Its to IBs; unfinished, 10s to 13s; prime owes, 17s to 19s; medium, 12s to Ifis; aged and light. Os to 11s fid. There was an average yarding of fat lambs. For the best, class of freezers there was a good demand. Interior sorts wore dull of sale. Tegs made up to 18s; best freezers. 13s Gd to 16s fid; and light and unfinished sorts, 11s to 13s. The entry of store sheep was again largo. Two-tooth ewes were a shade easier, and the top lots only realised prices equal to those of last week. Best quality made from IBs fid to 19s; medifun to good 13s to 14e; and poor from 7s fid upwards. Four-tooth ewes made up to las. Forward lamijs realised 8s fid to 10s; extra making'to 11s fid; fair average, 7s fid to 8s fid; low-conditioned lambs, fia to 7s; and culls, 3s to 5s fid. There was a largo entry of fat pigs, and a fair demand. Choppers made to 4s lOd: heavy baconors. 60s to 68s; and lighter, 48s to 55s tequal to 5d per lb). Porkers made 38s to 44s for large, and 30s to 35s for medium (equal to s)d per lb). Tho demand for stores was very poor. Medium made from 13s to 15s; and large 20s to 255. Weaners made from 6s to 10s, BURNSIDE. DUNEDIN. April 8. Sheep—lß3B wore penned, a small yarding, of fair quality, of which a good proportion were ewes. For best sorts prices wore slightly firmer, but medium quality met with a- poorer inquiry. Best wethers, 18s fid to 10s 9d; extra, to 23s 9d; medium, 15s to 17s fid; best ewes, 16s to 17s 9d; extra, to 19s fid; medium, 12s to 15s fid. Lambs—looo wore penned, of good quality. Prices wore about the same as last week. Best, 16s to 17s; extra, to 17s fid; medium, 14s fid to 15s 6d. Cattle—233 were yarded, a good entry. Of fair quality. Contrary to expectations, prices did not advance on last week's rates. Best bullocks, £9 10s to ,810 15s; medium, £8 12s fid to .89 7s fid; light, £6 2g fid to £7 12s fid; best cows and heifers, £8 to £7. Pigs—9o were yarded. Tho sale was rather dull, but prices were quite as firm as last week.
