ROYAL ARTILLERY BAND.

A few weeks ago the Australasian Concert Company of Adelaide anangbU with the Acquaviva deilo iuud Jiuxuf uf Xtaß to make a tour of Australia, but tin. Corporation of Acquaviva, at the last moment, declined to allow the band to leave its native country. Mr P. A. Howells, acting for Uie company, thereupon, through Mr John Dixon, of booscy and Co., Loiuioa, who Australia with the Bosses o' th' Barn Band, arranged for an English military band to visit Australia during tuo cumiiig winter. Mr Dixon’s choico fell upon the Royal Artillery Garrison Band, stationed at Now-cusllo-oii-Tyno, an organisation which for many years has held a prominent place anmng the famous military herds of Great Britain. The bandmaster, Mr Robert Smith, belongs to oneof tlio bwtknoun musical families of the Old Country. and -the band includes several men who are noted soloists. The touring party, which will number thirty-six, will leave London by the Medic to-morrow, reaching Adelaide about the middle of May. They will afterwards proceed to Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane, and then journey to New Zealand.
