At tho meeting of Wellington HoapilUl Trustees yesterday morning, the Bon, C, M. Luke, M.L.C., presided, and Messrs F. G. Boston, J. Danko, J. W. McEwan, A. C. Pearce, G. London. R C. Kirk, W. H. Hales, and G Nash were also present. HOSPITAL PLANS.
The Hou©c Committee. to whom had been referred the Wellington architects' requests for modification of the conditions for competitive designs of (he proposed hospital extension, recommended tli*<t an estimate of the cost of plans, buildings drainage, water and oilier data required be obtained; that the time for receiving plants be extended by two months from tne date of the distribution of copies of such plane; that the premium be not deducted from commission; that the suggested pre-cbulionfi to ensure secrecy of the authorship of plana */e adopted; and that the information required as to the nature of the accommodation be provided. It was explained by the Hon. C. M. Luke tfr.it the recommendation© werr prepared by the committee after consultation with Mr Campbell, Government Architect. The recommendations were adopted. MATRON'S RESIGNATION.
Xh© resignation of the matron of the Victoria Hospital, Miss Tuersloy, was accepted with regret, and one months. Hilary allowed in lieu of holiday overdue. The trustees decided to advertie? for applicants to fill the vacancy at a salary, of XIOO per year. Payments were authorised of wCSO3 for safciries, .£l4l wages, .£lO5 interest on loans, and -£5 10s 4d petty cash, and the treasurer's statement indicated a credit balance of -81144 13s lid. It was reported that there were 210 rAitients (including 23 children and 26 fever patients) in the main hospital, 43 in the Victoria Hospital, and 23 in th© Soddon Hospital, a grand total of 266, compared with 233 for the corresponding period of 1907.
