NEW ZEALAND ALLIANCE
FAREWELL TO REV. P. W. FAIRCLODGH. *
A luncheon party was held at Godber’s rooms, Cuba street, yesterday, as a farewell on behalf of the Wellington branch of the New Zealand Alliance to the Eev. P. W. Fairclough. Amongst those present were the Revs. J. Dawson (chairman of the vyellington executive of the Alliance), W. J. Comrie (president to the Wellington No-license League), W. J. Williams, J. J. North, A. Dewdney, and P. Isitt, the Hon. C. M. Luke, M.L.C., and Messrs A. E. Atkinson and Sanson. After limeheon several speakers referred to the Eev. Mr Pairolough’e length of service, and the earnestness of his work in the cause of temperance, and expressed regret that he shonld be removed from Wellington at the present time. He was assured of the best wishes of the Wellington temperance party for his work in Waimate, the district to which he has been transferred. !
