The southern markets if anything show a disposition to decline, in which case this market will doubtless follow suit. There is, however, on easier tendency hist now from the stagnancy of ti few (lays back, and sales are being made with more freedom. Onions continue to have a strong demand, with excellent quality showing. Potatoes, prime white, 5s 6d 'to fe 6d cwt; inferior sorts 2b to 3a cwt; onions, prime 7s to ,7s 6d cwt; inferior 5s to 6s cwt; picklers 7a to 8s cwt.

OTHER VEGETABLES. Severtil lines are having an excellent demand, notably cabbages, pumpkins, marrows, French beans, carrots and beetroot; lettuce has also advaniccd strongly during the pact day or two. Cabbages, choice 8s to 10s stick ; beetroot fc 63 to 5s 6d sack; cauliflowers 7s to 9s sack of choice; prime Ss to 6s; inferior 3s to 4s; carrots 6s to 7s sack; marrows 5c to 6s 6d sack; pumpkins 6s 6d to 8s 6d sack; turnips 3s to 4s (tick; green peas 8s to 10s small bag; lettuce, choice 6s to 7e case; French beans 9s to 10s half-eack; celery 3s to 4s dozen bunches; cucumbers Is to 3s dozen; mushrooms 2d to 3d lb; swedes 2s 6d to 3s cwt; pie melons 4s to 5o sack; tomatoes, choice 5e to 7s half-case; inferior 2s to 3s. FRESH EGGS. There is no change to report in the market for fresh eggs, prices still keeping at the high range of last week, viz., Is lOd to Is Hd dozen, with occasional sales at 2s; preserved arc in demand at Is 5d to Is 6d.
