LECTURE ON PALESTINE

The 1908 session of the Kent terrace Presbyterian Church Literary Association was opened last night, when the Rev. John MacE-ae, of Melbourne, at present occupying pulpit of St. John's Church, gave an address entitled, "Six Weeks under the Rule of the Turk." The cliair was occupied by the Rev. J. Kennedy Eihott. The hail was crowded to the doors. The lecture, which was an account of a visit paid to the Bible lands—Palestine and Egyptsome years ago, was very interesting. During the evening musical items were rendered by Mr Waiter Bryant (“The Holy Citv"), and Mr iv. Gondie ("Galilee"). The accompaniments were played by Mr (Villiam Bryant. At the conclusion of the lecture a vote of thanks was passed to the lecturer on the motion ot tho Rev. J. Paterson, seconded by Mr D. Robertson.
