KILLED BY A FALLING BRANCH. FBE33 ASSOCIATION. TAURANGA. April 6. Julius Percy Murray, aged thirty-seven died yesterday through .being struck on the forehead by a branch of a tree when engaged in clearing the survey line at Kaimai on Saturday. He leaves a widow and seven young children. The deceased formerly resided in Auckland and Elthnm. ■ DOUBLE DROWNING CASE. HUSBAND AND WIFE LOSE THEIR LIVES. PBESS ASSOCIATION. GBEYMOUTH. April 6. News was received in town to-night of a distressing fatnlity at Ahanra, whereby Mr and Mrs James Doolan, o: £5 atey 'Creek, were drowned. The deceased attended a funeral at Nelson Creek and left Ahauiti at 5 o’clock to cross the Ahanra river. Both were on one horse in fording the river, and must have been swept olf. A boa- half a mile lower was convey ing passengers across when the body of the woman Whs noticed floating down. It was seoi red and brought to shc-ve, but life was extinct.
